We offer an array of camps, workshops, and productions for kids to enter and learn about the wonderful world of theatre. With options like Puppetry, Silly Shakespeare, Improv, Radio Drama, Musical Theatre and Play Productions, and everything in between, there is something for everyone entering grades Kindergarten and up!

 We are so excited for Summer 2024! The schedule is shared below. It is organized week by week, listing each camp with dates, times, & age groups. Our program is tuition-free, but there will be fees for late cancellations and no-shows. Registration will be open in the Sawyer module below, Tuesday, March 26 at 10am.

If a "live" performance is not indicated in the description, that camp does not end with a live, family-audience stage performance.

WORKSHOPS are geared toward learning and building skills, and do not end in a performance (filmed or live).

Week 1: June 10-14

Workshop Series

  • Monday-Thursday (June 10-13)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 8-12* / entering 3rd-7th grades*
  • Expand your creativity with this series of four full-day workshops! Campers will rotate through four specialized one-day experiences that explore and build skills in character creation, musical theatre, and play production. Included workshops: Heroes & Villains, Music Video, Musical Theatre Workshop, and Play in a Day.

Connect, Play, Create! Bilingual Theatre (Spanish/English)

  • Monday-Friday (June 10-14)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 5-18* / Entering K-12th grades*
  • CONECTAR, JUAGR, CREAR! Led by Latinx Artists, participants (divided into appropriate age groups) will explore the creative arts through acting, movement, and music, collaborating on an original piece performed at the end-of-week live showcase on the Egyptian Studios stage!
  • This camp is specifically for our Latinx students and/or students in Spanish/English dual immersion programs.

Week 2: June 17-21

Teen Radio Play

  • Monday-Friday (June 17-21)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 12 & up / Entering 7th-12th grades
  • These campers will get the full creative audio experience. Participants will explore all aspects of bringing a radio play to life- character and sound effects creation, voice acting and recording, editing, and dropping the final product on podcast feeds everywhere.  

Musical Theatre Production

  • **Two week camp**
  • Monday-Friday both weeks (June 17-21 & June 24-28)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 8-14* / Entering 3rd-9th grades*
  • “On Broadway!” In this two-week performance camp experience, performers (divided into groups by age) get a crash course auditioning for and being in a musical theater production! Play a part in a mini-musical, whether in a lead role or working in a chorus, and showcase your acting, singing, and dancing talents in a final live performance on the Egyptian Studios stage!
  • *Students will be divided into appropriate age groups.

Full STEAM Ahead: Ocean (Younger)

  • Monday-Friday (June 17-21)
  • 9am-12pm
  • Ages 5-7 / Entering K-2nd grades
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math combine in this exciting camp focused on exploring our world's oceans. Participants will use the arts and sciences to create an immersive experience through acting, music, movement, crafting, and exploration culminating in a magical Gallery Walk at the end of the week.

Full STEAM Ahead: Marine Eco-Systems (Older)

  • Monday - Friday (June 17-21)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th grades
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math combine in this exciting camp focused on exploring our world's marine ecosystems. Participants will use the arts and sciences to create an immersive experience through acting, music, movement, crafting, and exploration culminating in a magical Gallery Walk at the end of the week.

Stage Makeup

  • Monday-Wednesday (June 17-19)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th grades
  • In this exciting three-day hands-on class, young theatre artists will learn the fundamentals of stage makeup design and application for realistic stage character make-up, including aging, highlight & shadow, and more! 

Week 3: June 24-28

Musical Theatre Production

  • A summer fan-favorite! Build, voice, and character-develop a unique puppet to perform in an end-of-week live ensemble performance on the Miner’s Park stage that’s sure to entertain camp families and Main Street public alike!

Backstage/Onstage

  • Monday-Thursday (June 24-27)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 8-12 and 13 & up / Entering 3rd-7th and 8th & up
  • This camp will have two different groups based on the two different age groups.
  • Add tools to your theatrical toolbox! Each day campers will participate in two focused hands-on workshops- one to expand performance skills, and the other to build backstage skills. Onstage workshops include improv, voice acting, reality TV acting, and foley sound. Backstage workshops include set design, costuming, props, and stage makeup.

Special FX Makeup

  • Monday-Wednesday (June 24-26)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 12 & up / Entering 7th-12th grades
  • Learn how professional makeup artists create some of the most iconic looks for characters on screen and stage. Using prosthetics and make up techniques, participants will dabble in the creativity that makes audiences cringe and leaves them in awe!

Week 4: July 8-12

Summer Mainstage Musical: The Addams Family

  • **Three week camp**
  • Monday-Friday first two weeks (July 8-12 / July 15-19), Monday-Saturday the third week (July 22-27)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 13 & up / Entering 8th-12th grades
  • A comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. *Must be available for public live performances on the main Egyptian Theatre stage on the evenings of June 25, 26 and 27.

  • Playing their way through the beginning elements of theater with drama, music, dance, and stage crafts rotations, our youngest thespians will bring some of our favorite children’s book stories to life in a filmed performance!

  • We pick a show from the wonderful world of musical theatre and handpick the best songs from it. You spend the week rehearsing music and choreography to perform for a filmed end-of-week performance.

Reality TV Workshop

  • Monday-Thursday (August 5-8)
  • 9am-3pm
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th grades
  • Join us for this new and exciting camp based on YouTube and Reality TV! Participants will explore reality TV acting through the acting techniques of situational comedy, game shows, YouTube creators, TED Talks, Newscasters, and more.

Story to Stage (Younger)

  • Monday-Thursday (August 5-8)
  • 9am-12pm
  • Ages 5-7 / Entering K-2nd grades
  • Join us as we jump into our favorite children's books and bring them to life through play and performance. Students will explore characterization and storytelling as they creatively play through their stories. This camp will end in a filmed performance.
