Philip Shepherd has recently moved to Utah from Pocatello, Idaho where he was an active and well-rounded member of their community theatre scene.

Philip is passionate about being an instructor and team member at the Egyptian YouTheatre, especially because he valued his time learning and participating in performing arts in his youth.

As part of his senior project, he worked with his peers and mentors to establish the American Falls Theatre Guild. Through that non-profit organization he was able to acquire grant funding to build and create the "Katherine Winter Davis Little Theatre" in American Falls, Idaho where he also served as the founding vice president.

After graduating from high school, Philip moved to the "big city" of Pocatello to attend Idaho State University to study acting and directing along with dance and design. For the last 20 years Philip has been working for various theatres across southeast Idaho and he is proud to have served on the board of directors for Westside Players as well as serving as President there.

Although he works as a director and stage manager, Philip describes himself as a "classic song and dance man" and loves performing on stage as much as managing things backstage. Tap dancing and slapstick comedy are where he really shines and he hopes to bring a lot of his natural joy to share with the students and staff at the Egyptian YouTheatre.
