We offer an array of camps, workshops, and productions for kids to enter and learn about the wonderful world of theatre. With options like Puppetry, Silly Shakespeare, Improv, Radio Drama, Musical Theatre and Play Productions, and everything in between, there is something for everyone entering grades Kindergarten and up!

 We are so excited for Summer 2023! Take a look through the schedule below. It is organized by age groups then week by week. Our program is tuition-free, but there will be fees for late cancellations and no-shows. Registration is open in the Sawyer module below.

WORKSHOPS are geared toward learning and building skills, and do not end in a performance (filmed or live).

Week 1: June 5-9

Drama Adventures

  • Ages 5-7 / Entering K-2nd
  • 9am-1pm
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math combine in this exciting camp focused on exploring our world’s Ecosystems. Each day of camp is a new adventure as the arts and sciences combine through acting, music, movement, crafting, and exploration culminating in a magical Gallery Walk at the end of the week.

Full STEAM Ahead

  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-1pm
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math combine in this exciting camp focused on exploring our world’s Ecosystems. Silly Shakespeare

  • **TWO WEEK CAMP** This camp runs June 5-16.
  • Ages 8-14* / Entering 3rd-9th*
  • 9am-3pm
  • “To be or not to be?” In this two-week camp, experience acting in a real theater troupe by working with your fellow campers to create characters, learn lines, and rehearse a play, while working together to make the props and costumes culminating in a live performance on the Egyptian Studios stage!

Week 2: June 12-16

Connect, Play, Create! Bilingual (Spanish/English)

  • Ages 5 & up* / Entering K-12th*
  • 9am-3pm
  • CONECTAR, JUAGR, CREAR! Led by Latinx Artists, participants (divided into appropriate age groups) will explore the creative arts through acting, movement, and storytelling by collaborating on an original piece to perform at the end-of-week live showcase on the Egyptian Studios stage!
  • This camp is intended to serve our vibrant Park City Latinx student population. Therefore it is required that campers either come from a Bilingual Spanish/English home OR be currently enrolled in one of the Park City School District Dual Immersion programs.

Musical Shakes

  • Ages 12 & up* / Entering 7th-12th*
  • 9am-3pm
  • Participate in giving Shakespeare a musical up-grade! Learn lyrics and choreography to popular songs chosen to match the themes of Shakespeare’s plays. Act the words of the Bard while adding a dramatic musical flair in collaboration with the Silly Shakespeare performers on the Egyptian Studios stage!

Theatre Bugs

  • We’re bringing some of our favorite children’s books to the stage! Play your way through the beginning elements of theater with drama, music, dance, and stage crafts and bring these stories to life in a filmed performance!

Musical Theatre Production

  • **TWO WEEK CAMP** This camp runs June 19-30.
  • Ages 8-14 / Entering 3rd-9th
  • 9am-3pm
  • “On Broadway!” In this two-week camp experience, performers get a crash course auditioning for and being in a musical theater production! Play a part in a mini-musical, whether in a lead role or working with a chorus, and showcase your acting, singing, and dancing talents in a final live performance on the Egyptian Studios stage!

Stage Makeup Workshop

  • **Tuesday-Thursday** This workshop runs Tuesday, June 20 through Thursday, June 22.
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • In this exciting three-day hands-on class, young theatre artists will learn the fundamentals of stage makeup design and application for realistic stage character make-up, including aging, highlight & shadow, and more!

Week 4: June 26-30

Puppetry

  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • A summer fan-favorite! Build, voice, and character-develop a unique puppet to perform in an end-of-week live ensemble performance on the Miner’s Park stage that’s sure to entertain camp families and Main Street public alike!

Musical Theatre Production

  • **TWO WEEK CAMP** This camp runs June 19-30.
  • Ages 8-14 / Entering 3rd-9th
  • 9am-3pm
  • “On Broadway!” In this two-week camp experience, performers get a crash course auditioning for and being in a musical theater production! Play a part in a mini-musical, whether in a lead role or working with a chorus, and showcase your acting, singing, and dancing talents in a final live performance on the Egyptian Studios stage!

Film Camp

  • Ages 10-15 / Entering 5th-10th
  • 9am-3pm
  • Get ready for your close up! Learn the elements of modern film making by being a part of the creation of a short film, both in front of and behind the scenes. Collaborate with your “film crew” to learn how to write, direct, act in, and film a short film!

Playwriting Workshop

  • **Monday-Thursday half days** This workshop runs from Monday, June 26 through Thursday, June 29 in the mornings only.
  • Ages 13 & up / Entering 8th-12th
  • 9am-12pm
  • This workshop is designed for the blossoming storyteller! Learn how to take an idea for a play, flesh out characters, and organize the plot into a script. Learn the basics to becoming a successful playwright, led by our award-winning and published resident playwright, Rachel Bublitz.

Improv Masterclass

  • **Tuesday-Thursday half days** This masterclass runs from Tuesday, June 27 through Thursday, June 29 in the afternoons only.
  • Ages 13 & up / Entering 8th-12th
  • 12:30-3:30pm
  • Whose line is it anyway? Find out in this masterclass designed to keep you on your toes while honing your creative and comedic skills. Learn how improv can improve your performance skills by building confidence and having fun!

Week 5: July 10-14

Fantasy Makeup Workshop

  • **Monday only** This workshop is only one day held on Monday, July 10.
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • In this exciting one-day workshop participants will take their make-up skills to another level as they learn how to transform themselves into a fantasy character, whether that be a fairy, a goblin, or a magical woodland creature! Spend the day mixing makeup with magic and creativity while learning creative makeup skills and techniques.

Summer Mainstage Production: XANADU

  • **THREE WEEK CAMP** This camp runs July 10-29, with performances July 27-29.
  • Ages 13 & up / Entering 8th-12th
  • 9am-3pm
  • Greek muses meet legwarmers and roller skates in this hilarious 80’s-style musical! Each participant will have the experience of auditioning for and playing a character, learning music and choreography, being in an ensemble, and performing live on the main Egyptian Theatre stage!
  • Must be available for public performances on the main Egyptian Theatre stage, matinees and evenings July 27-29.

Radio Play

  • Ages 10-15 / Entering 5th-10th
  • 9am-3pm
  • These campers will get the full creative audio experience. Participants will explore all aspects of bringing a radio play to life- character and sound effects creation, voice acting and recording, editing, and dropping the final product on podcast feeds everywhere.

Audition Workshop

  • **Tuesday-Thursday half days** This workshop runs from Tuesday, July 11 through Thursday, July 13 in the mornings only.
  • Ages 10 & up / Entering 5th-12th
  • 9am-Noon
  • Learn how to prepare and present the best version of yourself at an audition! From picking a monologue or song, to making it through a cold read or dance call, learn the tricks of the trade from instructors who have been on both sides of the auditioning process!

Special Effects Makeup Workshop

  • **Tuesday-Thursday half days** This workshop runs from Tuesday, July 11 through Thursday, July 13 in the afternoons only.
  • Ages 10 & up / Entering 5th-12th
  • 12:30-3:30pm
  • Learn how professional makeup artists create some of the most iconic looks for characters on screen and stage. Using prosthetics and make up techniques, participants will dabble in the creativity that make audiences cringe or leaves them in awe!

Week 6: July 17-21

Summer Mainstage Production: XANADU

  • Must be available for public performances on the main Egyptian Theatre stage, matinees and evenings July 27-29.

Music Video Workshop

  • **Monday OR Tuesday** This is a one-day workshop offered either Monday, July 17 OR Tuesday, July 18. Please only sign up for one day as material is repeated each day and we want the maximum number of kids to experience this camp.
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • In this one-day workshop, participants will work with a music video Director/Choreographer and Vocal Coach, learning and applying the styles and techniques that go into creating and starring in an original filmed music video to a popular song!

Musical Theatre Bootcamp

  • **Monday OR Tuesday** This is a one-day workshop offered either Monday, July 17 OR Tuesday, July 18. Please only sign up for one day as material is repeated each day and we want the maximum number of kids to experience this camp.
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • Lace up your character shoes and warm up your vocal cords! This one-day bootcamp is designed to whip your musical theater skills into shape both on and off the stage!

Play In a Day

  • **Wednesday OR Thursday** This is a one-day camp offered either Wednesday, July 19 OR Thursday, July 20. Please only sign up for one day as material is repeated each day and we want the maximum number of kids to experience this camp.
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • Get ready for an exciting day of casting, memorizing, creating characters, props and costumes, and performing a short, filmed play performance – all in one day! Do not miss this fun and dramatic ride!

Week 7: July 24-28

  • Ever been told you’re “a little dramatic”? Then this camp is for you! Channel it all into a two-week camp learning the art and skills of melodramatic acting, staging, costuming, and prop use with a live performance on the Egyptian Studios stage!

Teen Film Camp

  • Ages 13 & up / Entering 8th-12th
  • 9am-3pm
  • Learn to be the next Steven Spielberg with technology found in the palm of your hand! Collaborate with your “film crew” using cameras, phones and all the elements of a modern film set, to write, act, direct, and film a short film. Get hands-on experience in front of and behind the cameras! 

Broadway Babies

  • **Tuesday-Thursday HALF DAYS** This camp runs Tuesday, July 25 through Thursday, July 27 in either mornings only OR afternoons only.
  • Ages 5-7 / Entering K-2nd
  • 9am-12pm OR 1-4pm
  • Spend the morning OR afternoon having a blast learning essential elements of musical theater through activities in acting, singing, dance! (**Only sign up for the morning OR afternoon session as material will be repeated and we want the maximum number of kids to experience this camp.)

Week 8: July 31-August 3

Play Production: MELODRAMA

  • **TWO WEEK CAMP** This camp runs July 24-August 3. (The first week is Monday-Friday, the second week is Monday-Thursday.)

Reality TV Acting Workshop

  • **Monday-Wednesday** This camp runs Monday, July 31 through Wednesday, August 2.
  • Ages 10 & up / Entering 5th-12th
  • 9am-3pm
  • Join us for this new and exciting camp based on YouTube and Reality TV! Participants will explore reality TV acting through the acting techniques of Commedia dell'arte, stock characters, situational comedy, game shows, YouTube creators, and more.

Musical Theatre Workshop

  • **Tuesday-Wednesday** This workshop runs Tuesday, August 1 and Wednesday, August 2.
  • Ages 8-12 / Entering 3rd-7th
  • 9am-3pm
  • In this workshop participants will focus on the fundamentals of acting, movement, and voice for Musical Theater. Individual and group instruction will be given, highlighting both the solo and ensemble experience.
